Waterline Utility Abandonment

On Track Solutions was tasked with facilitating the successful abandonment of a waterline utility. The waterline utility was owned by the Riverside Cement Company, which had a water pipeline encroaching onto UPRR property.

The utility was located at the Crestmore Industrial Lead spanning 1800 feet between UPRR mile post 3.60 and mile post 3.77. The water utility abandonment was a part of a real estate sale between CT Investors and UPRR. On Track Solutions was responsible for coordinating with UPRR Real Estate and Rail Road Management Company for the abandonment in addition to organizing the workforce for the utility removal with engineering observation to ensure that the work was carried out according to the specifications and requirements.

The abandonment process from the submittal of application to complete removal the utility  took under 9 months. This timeline is impressive considering the complexity of the project and the coordination required between UPRR, CT Investors, Rail Road Management Company and Riverside Cement Company.
